Our color is now BLUE! Another fleece-to-shawl team was formed for the Dutchess County Fair in August, with Hetty as the weaver, and Mel, Betsy, Chris and Nancy spinning. This time our team took FIRST PRIZE!!! Way to go, ladies!
Also exciting: we have new additions to our library! Helen is updating our library and has acquired several enticing new books and DVDs. Huzzah! Please bring your book back if you borrowed one so the rest of us get a turn. Email Helen if you have any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have a fun new enticement at every meeting: Door Prizes! You get one chance to win by bringing your wheel or spindle. Additional chances can be purchased for $1 each (all proceeds benefit the guild of course). This month’s prize will be brought by Jeanne. We need a volunteer each month to donate a prize, so let us know if you’d like to contribute!
We also now have a snack at every meeting. Whitney’s bringing the snack this time. Please bring your own reusable cup or mug and we’ll heat up some water for tea!
Fiber of the month will also be brought by Whitney.
Date: September 12th (always the 2nd Thursday of each month)
Location: Ulster County Senior Center: 1 Town Hall Drive – Lake Katrine, NY
Topic: Planning for Harvest Festival and Sheep & Wool
Activity: Hetty will tell us about her MAFA experience, and then showing us how to do granny squares. Bring your crochet hooks and scrap yarn!
Are you on Ravelry? Did you know we have a UCHG Ravelry group? Please join us for ongoing fun and chat throughout the month between meetings!
