November meeting

yarnitectureOur next meeting is this weekThursday, November 14, 2013 at the Ulster Town Senior Center at 7pm (always the 2nd Thursday of the month).

Were you at the New York State Sheep & Wool Festival? We were! I (Cal) was fortunate to be able to take a spinning workshop on the Thurday before, with Jillian Moreno (those are some of her class samples above). It was really fun, and I learned a lot about spinning the yarn I need for a project, as opposed to spinning on “auto-pilot”…

If you brought home some fun new goodies from the festival, bring them to the meeting for Show and Tell!

We have a fun new enticement at every meeting: Door Prizes! You get one chance to win by bringing your wheel or spindle. Additional chances can be purchased for $1 each (all proceeds benefit the guild of course). This month’s prize will be brought by Hetty. We need a volunteer each month to donate a prize, so let us know if you’d like to contribute!

We also now have a snack at every meeting. Paula’s bringing the snack this time. Please bring your own reusable cup or mug and we’ll heat up some water for tea!

Fiber of the month will also be brought by Cal.
